Earlier this year, an independent group of community leaders chose Gilbert to receive The First Tee of Greater Austin’s 2017 “Perseverance" Award. The First Tee of Greater Austin honors individuals whose attitudes and actions reflect the organization’s 9 Core Values. The Nine Core Values are a vital component of The First Tee’s curriculum which teaches character education to young people ages 7-17 through the game of golf. Congratulations to Gilbert!
